BioGreen Solutions pinpoints and eradicates 63 room bed bug infestation in
record time

Canine inspection of 190 rooms and complete thermal treatment of 63 rooms was completed in less than 2 weeks from initial phone call.

November 4, 2011 -- Bloomfield Hills, Mich. - - “When the referral originally came in, our customer had no idea how large their problem might be,” says BioGreen Solutions President Larry Smith. “In cases like this, a large hotel with a problem of undetermined size, we always recommend a thorough canine inspection. Unlike human inspections, which have an approximate accuracy of 35% and can take up to 45 minutes per room, a trained dog can inspect 200 rooms in less than two days with an accuracy rate close to 98%. At the end of the inspection, our customer had a very accurate snapshot of their problem and we immediately mapped out a strategy for treatment.”

Every customer has expectations as to the outcome of a complete canine inspection. Some fear the worst, while others believe they have a small issue and are simply taking preventative measures. Sometimes those expectations match and sometimes they are far apart.

Treatment consisted of 3-4 crews working around the clock over the course of 10 days. “Since we use whisper grade generators to power our heaters, there is very little noise,” says Smith. “In addition, our customer did a brilliant job of rotating floors and rooms, so that our treatments caused virtually no inconvenience to their guests. This was a well co-ordinated, large scale project that was executed quickly and efficiently. Moving forward we will implement quarterly inspections of the hotel to ensure that a problem of this size is never allowed to happen. In the end we have an extremely satisfied customer with a clean baseline and a proactive prevention plan and that’s what matters.”
