Hotels and other properties see marketing and cost advantages of proactive approach to bed bugs
October 4, 2011 -- Bloomfield Hills, Mich. - - The results of a thorough canine inspection provides a very accurate portrait of where a facility is in terms of bed bugs at any given time. “Proactive quarterly canine inspections allow you to look at a snapshot of your facility on a regular basis and keep any infestation which may occur from getting out of hand,” says BioGreen Solutions President Larry Smith. “This reduces treatment cost, potential lost revenue and provides the hotel with a concise, positive marketing message for their guests.”
Hotels implementing a proactive approach can assure their guests that they inspect their facility each quarter and treat any issues immediately, dramatically reducing the number of incidents that may have otherwise occurred.
Bed bugs are not going away anytime soon. “Over the last year, the media coverage of bed bugs has been enormous. Everyone understands that it is a costly, serious problem – one that a hotel or property manager has to address,” says Smith. “As a result, the need to become proactive and develop a strategy for reducing the number and scope of infestations becomes critical. The need to craft a marketing message for your customers becomes critical as well. Being proactive allows you to accomplish both objectives while maintaining a more guest friendly environment.”
